Codership’s demo theater presentation at Vancouver:
Do More with Galera Cluster in Your OpenStack Cloud
Galera Cluster is already the way to achieve active/active HA for OpenStack back-end databases. Yet, it is possible to do a great deal more: Galera can provide cloud user with a fully redundant database cluster in place of the traditional single-node MySQL or legacy replication or Amazon RDS. With the new geo-distribution features, it is also possible to create databases that span regions and availability zones. This provides protection against whole-datacenter disasters and power outages.
Presenter Philip Stoev:
Philip Stoev is a QA and Release Manager with Galera Cluster, responsible for the overall quality of the product. He has worked on distributed systems and databases for more than a decade at Oracle, MariaDB and NuoDB. His database testing framework, the RQG, is widely used in the MySQL ecosystem and won the Application of the Year MySQL Community Award in 2014.
